In BSCW, you have a personal profile consisting of a personal info page and technical details concerning the set-up of synchronous communication links (IP number of your computer, available computer conferencing programs etc.).

In the personal info page, you may provide useful information about yourself including links to additional information on the Web, e.g. to a personal home page and the Web site of your organization.

Other users may look up your info page to make sure that the person they are about to invite to their workspace under your user name is actually the person they mean. Some information of your info page (full name, affiliation) will automatically be displayed in other users’ address books, in member lists of workspaces, etc.
