You may organize a virtual meeting as an appointment. Specify the kind of online tool you are going to use, e.g. a computer conferencing application, under ‘Details’ when you create the appointment. You may also specify online tools for an appointment later on:

• Select   Change    Tools  in the action menu of an appointment.

If such online tools are specified for an appointment, BSCW supports you with setting up the virtual meeting:

• Select   Join  in the action menu of the appointment in order to join the virtual meeting at the time agreed upon.

BSCW then sends a file to your Web browser containing the address data. The MIME type of this file matches the online tool specified for the appointment. If your computer system, and in particular your Web browser, are configured appropriately, the online tool will be started and automatically connected to the correct addresses.
