To Whom It May Concern:

Help! I'm running into problems getting OpenSSH 2.5.1 on AIX 4.3 to
auto-authenticate (publickey authorization) with OpenSSH 2.9 on Solaris 2.7.
The AIX administrators have this installation of OpenSSH auto-authenticating
at their shop with other AIX machines. And I've been able to get several
installations of OpenSSH 2.9 to auto-authenticate on any version of Solaris
at my shop (using rsa or dsa keys), but this AIX installation has got me
stumped. We have connectivity between the machines, because we can ssh into
the box using password authentication. I just can't make
auto-authentication (publickey) work for some reason.

Although I have sufficient access to the AIX machine to work on this, it is
offsite and not under my control so upgrading that version of OpenSSH is not
really an option for me - unless there is no other option. I was hoping
someone might have some insight into my problem. Is this a small
compatibility issue bewteen OS/OpenSSH versions, or I have configured
something incorrectly?
