That's one possibility.  Another is a bug in OpenSSH.  A third is faulty
RAM.  A fourth is an overheating CPU (possibly due to overclocking).

Without attaching gdb to the ssh and sshd processes and debugging them,
it's probably not possible to guess what's going on.  But perhaps someone
else on the list knows more about your problem.
