Well I don't really see why grepping the source should change
anything... I've just grepped:

% grep -ri "signal 11" *                       /usr/src/linux

And it did not give any results.

I've tried to look in the different log files, and only in
/var/log/auth is there any thing about the ssh server:

May 27 17:31:16 bart sshd[14475]: Disconnecting: Command terminated on signal 11.

I've tried on different setups and they all fail

Debian Woody kernel 2.4.3
Debian potato kernel 2.2.19

Same failure.
