Before starting to use BSCW, you have to register once as a user of the BSCW server. After a simple authentication procedure (see 4.1.2) the BSCW server "knows" a registered user. Basically, this is a combination of

• your user name with
• a current password and with at least
• one valid personal email address.

Using your user name and password, you can access your folders and workspaces from any computer with Internet access and a suitable Web browser.
