Our Ocicats, Goldi and Kirppu

written by Katariina Nuutila

sama suomeksi.

Here are our Ocicats. The larger is a cinnamon spotted male, Galax Goldeneye, better known as Goldi. The smaller is a chocolate spotted male Galax Ivanhoe, and we call him Kirppu, which is `fleaŽ in Finnish.

Goldi was born Aug. 14, 1996 and Kirppu Dec. 19, 1996, both in Galax cattery. Goldi and Kirppu are cousins of each other and they have many relatives in Finland and in the United States.

Here are our boys together.

Goldi washing the dishes.
Goldi and Kirppu (or The Boys, as we usually call them) are very playful. They often chase and attack each other, but that is just a game. Goldi is wilder than Kirppu. He is always going to places (some of which are not meant for him) and spreading things around.

Goldi loves playing with water, but Kirppu hates water. Goldi tries to eat almost everything. When I am eating one end of a cheese sandwich, Goldi is soon eating the other end.

The boys usually sleep next to each other. They also like to sleep close by people or on top of my back or my fathers belly.

The boys take part in all activities of our family. It is often difficult to play with the computer, since the boys want to participate in the game.

We like to sleep next to each other.

Kirppu in an old bread basket.
Kirppu is still so small that he fits in all kinds of funny places, for instance, in an old bread basket. Kirppu has better manners than Goldi, and he also sits more calmly in my lap.

Kirppu has a very small voice, like the cheep of a bird or the peep of a mouse.

We are going to insert here more material on our boys, so please visit this page again.

The End.
