Ssh support in IOS is on the roadmap, although I can't give you an exact

Of course it's not just IOS that passes passwords in the clear, but we are
well aware of the problem. Kerberos is one way of protecting yourself, as is
using a crypto IOS release.

The marketting people say that in their opinion, IPSec is the long-term
solution. I think Ssh will be usefull for quite a while, still.

Out of curiosity: Which cisco mailing list did you post to, where you got no
reply?
