With the exception of the first exercise, the class exercises are not compulsory for foreign students. In the class exercises this spring, the foreign student adviser will demonstrate how to solve the exercises of the week, and the students are not required to return answers to these exercises. It is however recommended, that the students familiarize themselves with the exercises before coming to the class exercise, so that they can get more out of the explanations. This year we are performing an experiment on the course, where web-based teaching and traditional class-room teaching are compared. Non-Finnish students are, however, excluded from this study. Therefore, English-speaking students do all exercise rounds, except for the first, using the web-based TRAKLA2 environment. GradingTo get grade 1 you must get at least 50% of the total points. To get grade 5 you must get at least 90% of the total points. Times of exercise classesExercises are typically held every other week. There are, however, some exceptions so check the exercise times! The hall A232 is a meeting room in the second floor of the Computer Science building, in the hallway A.
ExercisesYou are not expected to represent a full implementation, but to describe working of the algorithms either verbally or in pseudo code.
